Leírás
Mount Elgon, an ancient volcano in eastern Uganda, has rich soils and cool highlands that produce Arabica coffee with natural sweetness and balance. In its foothills, Norman Mukuru runs The Coffee Yard, sourcing cherries from farmers across Sironko, Mbale, Bulambuli and Kapchorwa. With nearly 20 years of experience, he has been perfecting natural processing since 2018.
Cherries are floated, hand-sorted and drip-dried on raised beds, then fermented in sealed barrels or open tanks for floral, delicate lots. After slow drying and resting, the coffee is hulled, hand-picked and colour-sorted for export.
The result is a full-bodied, sweet coffee with low, gentle balsamic acidity and notes of blood orange, apple, walnuts, candied fruit and subtle spice, with hints of vanilla and star anise. A comforting, flavorful cup any time of the day.
